Billboard API Documentation

The Billboard API puts the entire rich history of our weekly charts at your fingertips to sample and mix into your web pages and applications. This documentation provides an overview of the Billboard API architecture and offers the fine details on each of its services and corresponding resources.

To start you off, we offer you the Chart service. Later on, we will roll out the Artist and Track services to add even more depth and perspective to the Billboard information available to your applications

    Any chance your Artist names and tracks title match up with Rovi's? Right now it is all fuzzy matching

    I am just trying to execute this api using java. I execute the url and get the xml databack. Howeever I can't find the itemid for top latin tropical, I would like to know if there is a way I can geta list of this. Also from the one one I am doing from the examples the issue date is back to 2010. I need to get the same results as were are getting in the billboard.com. From this link for example: http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/latin-songs?order=timeon

    The api is strange as it almost nothing it says works. The example of the blue grass charts by id did none of the 3 digit chart ids from the list/spec worked. From the blue grass example, I tried to pry apart how the API works. I didn't completely sort it out but hopefully this will help others. The following lists chart ids that did not return Internal Errors.

    • 3123846 Top Cast Albums (2010-10-09)
    • 3141231 Hot Christian Songs (2010-12-18)
    • 3125909 R&B/Hip Hop (2010-12-31) [this was the most recent I stumbled on]

    FYI the format I used for the sucessful queries ignore count and start keywords so I used the following http://api.billboard.com/apisvc/chart/v1/item?format=xml&id=3052248&api_key=YourKeyHere
